EGON is an absolutely passionate hunting dog through and through. The graceful, loving and strong wire-haired male lives with his family in the Principality of Liechtenstein, where his main hunting opportunities are; but also in Germany he has his hunting ground. So he can fully exploit his genetically hunting roots.

There are no hedges, thorns or anything else to stop him.
His main task is the hunt for roe deer, red deer and chamois, and on top of that he can and is allowed to pursue his passion regularly in Germany (Black Forest) also for wild boar. This is where the main passion of dog and handler can be found, but that does not mean that predatory game is neglected - on the contrary!

On top of that, Egon was trained to be a dead barker, which he does clearly and safely with every successful prey.
He is just a dachshund dog who flexibly does and works out all work with his dog handler.

Egon is a rather dominant male who is still clear in the head. He just doesn't want to leave "his" territory to every foreign male ...

He passed the Swiss behavioral assessment and the character test there with absolute sovereignty. Simply a great hunting dachshund all round!

In 2020 Egon was able to successfully pass the water test and the Swiss sweat test at the local hunting association in a length of 500m. With this achievement he has now qualified for the 1000m sweat track.

In April 2021, the two of them drove to Austria to take part in the track loudness test. Without training Egon on the hare, he was able to prove his impeccable sound on the first hare and passed the first prize with full points.

In addition to many practical huntings, there will be a number of exams in 2021!

EGON has had the breeding license in Switzerland since October 2020 and is available there to cover healthy and productive bitches.
